Our high school students will be heading to NYC to partner with a local church in sharing the love and message of Christ through ministry in the parks, church outreach, and serving at assisted living and trauma centers.
Cost: $950 with $250 deposit due at registration (note: the deposit is refundable but the remainder of the trip balance is considered a Charitable Contribution and is NON-REFUNDABLE).
Frequently Asked Questions
- How will we be traveling while in NYC? From the airport to our hotel, we will arrange for vans or a bus to pick us up. Once in the city, we will use the subway system. I've been to NYC a few times to visit and once on a mission trip and used the subway on all those trips, so I am familiar with and comfortable using the subway. We will have a system in place (ex. 1 leader per 5 students) to ensure safety while using the subway.
- Where will we be staying while in NYC? We will be staying at a hotel with easy access to the subway. We are still working out which hotel with an emphasis on cost, convenience, and safety. We will serving in Queens, and may stay there, but could also stay in Manhattan. It is a quick subway ride between Manhattan and Queens.
- Who will we be working with while in NYC? We are partnering with a local church, Journey Church Queens. They are a church plant located in Forest Hills (Queens), and are planting another church in Astoria (Queens). We will help them with ministry in the parks (similar to VBS) throughout the week and build to a big block party at the end of the week.
