Family Promise EBC serves up to four homeless families at a time, providing intensive case management, financial literacy training, and various other forms of service and support. Families in the program are seen as guests rather than clients and receive dinner and overnight shelter through the hospitality of area church partners. The goal is for families to leave the program for a home of their own with the skills and resources to sustain that stable housing situation.
There are three different ways to serve: meals, overnight hosts, and drivers.
Overnight Hosts: Someone to spend the night for emergency purposes only. Come in after dinner and checkin with families, then camp out in the Green Room for the night.
Meals: Dinner is needed each evening for the families–get a group together to put together a meal!
Drivers: We provide the vans, you choose the shift. Drivers are needed for either morning or evening shifts. Morning drivers take guests from Vista to Family Promise day center. Evening drivers pick up at Family Promise and bring them to Vista.
